ThingWorx as a Digital PLM Extension to Windchill
2:00 PM EDT – Monday, May 15
with Anthony Stroessenreuther
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is leveraging ThingWorx’s high customizability to build an efficient data aggregation interface embedded in Windchill to create, store, track & validate Engineering Authorization (EA) data, making it a key part of their Digital Thread. This object-oriented approach relies on the PLM data as the source and harmonizes cross-functional activities that contribute to managing the complexity of the EA. In this session, we will share practical tips and leading practices for implementing ThingWorx Flow and Connector in product development workflows.
Key Take Away 1: Gain insight into the communication structure of ThingWorx Connectors to achieve business objectives.
Key Take Away 2: Leverage Windchill by extending it’s functionality in using ThingWorx to better meet business users’ needs.
Key Take Away 3: Understand leading software development methodologies used with ThingWorx
Ties that Bind: Preparing Your Organization for Digital Thread
2:50 PM EDT – Tuesday, May 16,
discussion facilitated by Patrick Sullivan
Digital Transformation needs to be a custom strategy that will guide you through tightening your digital thread. Join a panel of experts to learn about some of the largest gaps that exist and proven examples of how to overcome them. You will learn the importance of creating a seamless digital thread that relies on harmonization across the organization. You will also hear about overcoming system silos and how to get through common challenges. The presentation will address misalignment and how to get around one of the most overlooked, but solvable, challenges facing the digital thread via roles and responsibilities. This session will also touch on culture and how to ensure you address inevitable resistance that may arise when embarking on a digital thread strategy.
Key Take Away 1: Learn examples of how to build bridges to overcome the gaps identified above by connecting people, processes, and technology.
Key Take Away 2: Explore common challenges and best practices for how to overcome them from this experience and wisdom of others.
Take Your Blinders Off
4:00 PM EDT – Tuesday, May 16,
with Mark Kristobak
How do good designs turn into great designs? Certainly, ingenuity plays a role, but maybe even more so by making good decisions as the design matures. Reuse is proclaimed to help control costs and time to market, both key components of great designs, but only if you choose what parts and subsystems to reuse wisely. And that requires performing due diligence on those choices. Consider the value of knowing costing, inventory, lead time, non-conformance, and MRP planning data before choosing. What if you could have that data for your selected list of comparable parts at your fingertips at any moment? How much better would your design decisions be? In this 15 min session, we’ll give some insight into a digital thread solution to this challenge using ThingWorx.
Key Take Away 1: Learn how engineers can leverage disparate part data to inform better designs.
Key Take Away 2: Explore how as the digital thread tightens, your solution can scale to suit the growing demand.
Key Take Away 3: Learn how managers can take a pulse, track progress, and take action.
Derive Regulatory Intelligence from Integrated Product Records
11:30 AM EDT – Wednesday, May 17,
with Sajesh Murali
Regulatory information management is the core driver for a medical device company to reduce the time to design and distribute its products, which helps bring products to market efficiently. Attend this session to learn about an integrated approach and solution that leverages the technology as an enabler for deriving the intelligence in your regulatory data by an integral product record.
Key Take Away 1: Align regulatory data to create an integrated product record.
Key Take Away 2: Learn why it’s important to be prepared to react to regulation changes fostering market growth.
Key Take Away 3: Hear how to manage the systems and technology landscape and distribute key roles and responsibilities across the digital regulatory landscape.
